Coffee isn’t just coffee. Anyone who has a favorite brand, a favorite taste, or has ever even adjusted the taste with sugar and cream can tell you. From looking at the type of coffee beans used to the process of growing, manipulating taste and flavor, harvesting, and even processing, there are many different ways that different types of coffees are created – and that’s before you even get to the final preparation stage.
Espresso is for the true caffeine junkies. This isn’t for the faint of heart and gives a huge boost because of the high pressure put on coffee beans to extract all that caffeine. In addition to this, espressos make the base for some other types of coffee such as the also very well known and popular cappuccino or cafe latte.
When we’re talking about mochaccino, you’re looking at cappuccino with chocolate powder or syrup to add that extra little bit of flavor. Some people really enjoy adding even a little bit of whipped cream on top for a dessert type taste and flavor to go with the coffee. I’ll never forget my first mochaccino – I was getting some tree service done in my yard (by Vince’s Tree Service, who did an amazing job BTW (http://www.vincestree.com)), and I went out for a coffee while they were trimming my spruce trees. I got back and they had trimmed them beautifully, and I remember thinking how good my life was as I had my own yard, my own house, and I was drinking this unbelievably delicious mochaccino.
The Coffee Beans Matter
Even when talking about “regular” coffee, the truth is that coffee from different coffee beans, different fields, and different growing regions will taste much different. Even a normal cup of just plain old black coffee can have enormously different tastes between off the shelf grocery store coffee, or even looking at specialty coffee that comes from companies specializing in certain tastes or flavors.
There are many different types of coffee out there, and coffee lovers should rejoice as a result. Enjoying coffee is not only a habit, but for many people it is an absolute necessity as far as getting started in the morning. There’s a lot to love about coffee, no matter what your specific flavor and choice is.
